The title of the novel comes from a WC Handy song titled Beale Street Blues. I particularly liked this version of the song by Louis Armstrong.

We will not have an episode next week because we would have had to record it Thanksgiving Day, and as thankful as we are for the podcast, we just wanted to eat food and not think for a minute. We will, however, be back on December 4 with a review and discussion of There There by Tommy Orange.
